Fixed leaking fuel rail,,finally 900 1993

I had an 89 740,,I went over it completely . cahnged all brakes,flushed the brake system completely w Syntheticbrake 4 fluid lubed all moving brake parts w synthetic grease,,& MPG went to 34! Just before Sandy Hit it & my doggies pull the shifter out of gear & cause it to roll backwards down a hil & hit a big jeeps BIG spare tire!!<,cracking the rear window,,
Next I replaced it w an 87 Turbo which was a rotten pile of junk & had to be towed 50,,Never any turbo again.
3 Yrs ago i really scored got a 93 940 n turbo,,,224k little rust & the obly problem has recurriing BAD MPG!
replaced all fuel hoses cleaned injectors replaced all brakes & lubed them,,Syn 4 brake fluid,,,Mpg was horrible,,from 22 at best mostly around 12 to 16,,,
Then the other day while meeting a guy who sold me a towhitch I showed him the alternator &I had & just happened upon a leaking FUEL RAIL!!!
THAT has been the entire problem!!! I should ve coated the rail w dishwashing liquid to check while running ,,finally I think a crack developed under the weld holding the section for the FPR,,,,
Just happened upon a replacement rail,,& an hour later w new seals putting the injectors & FPR back in place NO leaks,,,drove 78 miles used 2.4 gals!!!
So that was around town & in the hills Of Warren County,,on the HWy I bet I can get it up to 36 mpg!! Not bad for a Grand DogMobile!!~~& cruising at 75,,,
