OK. I already know not to try to remove the tube from the pan as the connecting mechanisms have a life of their own.
Problem is that it's leaking there. On my last 240 I had the same problem and so I had it welded and tested for leaks before putting it back on.
Back to the present car...last summer I applied some Seal All and that held off the leak for a while. Now it's back and the pan gasket is leaking as well.
My plan is to cut the tube (and splice is a piece of rubber hose with clamps upon reinstallation) below the starter bolts, take the pan off, and somehow fix the tube leak. Just wondering if there's an alternative to welding.
