1985 was over 30 years ago. No surprise then that the tan vinyl cover and foam on the driver's lower seat cushion of my 240 sedan are split open and sag too low.
I found this page on IPD's website that features a replacement 240 seat grid and springs. The idea seems to be that you need to find a good foam cushion and cover from a junkyard seat, take yours apart and replace these support parts, then reinstall with the new cover. A lot of things have to happen, including luck in finding what you need and money to buy everything. Then add considerable time and effort.
If you have addressed this problem, how did you improve the situation?
