Can't be without a 240...BUT..

Just sold my 1990 Wagon.

Now I can't be without a Volvo 240 to tinker with, so I'm going to look at a 1989 Sedan tomorrow.

Only problem is, it was a daily driver until about a year ago and it died. Owner replaced ECU to no avail.

Says the Fuel pump(s) are good, and filter and fuel pressure regulator were replaced as was the old fuel with new.

Now owner claims that it will start and idle for a few seconds and die.

The car looks to be in great shape cosmetically and the price is right.

Prior to going to look at the car, I would like to get my thoughts together on what the problem could be and any quick diagnostics that I can do in his driveway to get to the problem, and even better yet, any quick fix that may work to get it running so that I can drive it home rather than tow it.

Any thoughts ye Volvo 240 gurus?
