Center console

I bought a center console on ebay and it is from an '86 or earlier car. My car is a 92 240 wagon.

Before I tried to install my old cubby box I trimmed the area of the bottom of the used old console to make room for my '92 seat belt lacks that are outside and not in the console like the '86 and earlier cars...

So now I cannot return the 'modified' center console and I can't get the cubby to fit.

Any suggestions?
