I'm trying to get our 1998 V90 inspected and my Volvo guy pulled an OBD code of 112 with his code reader. It read off to him "Intake air temp sensor circuit too low." He told me that this indicates an open condition in the circuit, as if it were unplugged or similar.

So we went out to the car and took a look for any likely wire we could find running to the intake or components connected to it. The only obvious connectors we found were for the air mass meter and the idle air motor. We couldn't find anything else.

Now, I've known this guy for over 15 years. He used to just run a Volvo parts business, but recently began a repair business. He's a whiz at Volvo parts, but perhaps not as much at working on them. Unfortunately his Volvo guru mechanic was out to lunch when I came by, and I wasn't able to wait around for him.

But, thinking about this resource, the Brickboard, and that if anybody knew the answer it would be found with one or more of the members here, I thought I'd post a note here and hope for a response or two. So there you have it. Got any ideas? Is it possible that a component within the AMM has failed and that I'll have to replace the entire AMM? If so, would you happen to know the year model range that the '98 models use? (I'm hoping to save some money here and maybe buy used.)
