Hi Folks,
I'm not sure what the problem is with my 245. While I was fixing the Park, Neutral Safety Switch the other day, I left the doors open and the battery drained down. So I removed the battery from the car and recharged it.
Now, after installing the battery again, the car starts fine, but runs terrible. The engine shakes, it runs lumpy, lacks power, seems like not all the cylinders are firing, or that there's a terrible vacuum leak somewhere.
Here's what I've done so far to look into it.
1. I have a spare Air Mass Meter and swapped that in yesterday, but it made no difference in the way the car ran.
2. Cleaned the throttle body.
3. Checked the AMM/Throttle body flexible hose for tears/cracks.
4. Looked for vacuum leaks.
5. Checked the fuses and spun them around.
6. Checked the rotor and rotor cap.
7. Pulled each spark plug, checked the gap, checked the plug wires.
8. Checked to make sure the plug wires were in the correct order on the distributor cap.
Any advice for next steps?
Does the car's computer need to adjust after disconnecting the battery?
I'm also wondering if the catalytic converter is clogged. It's not running right, won't idle, acts like the timing is all messed up.
Thanks,
Tom
