Brake problems 200 1984

Shop replaced front struts and disconnected the brake lines in the process. They claim that they bled the brakes, but now the pedal has zero resistance until almost the end of its travel. Car stops but effort required to stop it is much greater than usual. Interestingly, the pedal is firm with the engine off, but soft with the engine running. Brake failure light is on intermittently.

Air in the brakes? Shop said something about resetting the switch in the junction box (octopus) but can't do it until Monday.

TIA....
