I bought the car at an auto auction as a project car a couple weeks ago and am slowly fixing several problems with the aid of a nearly identical 93' parts car. I was hoping the problem was the crash sensor so replaced it but it wasn't the problem. The crash sensors had identical part nos.
The car had been in a collision back in 2000 and today I replaced the left seat belt assembly and got rid of a 2-3-2 error. The bad assembly had blown (cable sticking out of top of charge cylinder), not sure of the proper name.
So, the only SRS error left is the 2-1-2 error and I know nothing about what is being referred to as "Steering Wheel Module, Break in wiring" but enough to not work on anything in that area before disconnecting the battery and asking you folks before taking the steering wheel apart.
Where is the Steering Wheel Module and can I safely replace it with my parts car module without blowing my head off?
Can the airbag be deployed without a signal from the crash sensor?
Is there a place I can get more info. on this?
I'm anxious to replace the module since I think I have one that is good.
Thanks!
