window scrapers replacement 200 1989

Hi,

I need some helpful hints please. I am trying to replace the window scrapers on our ‘89DL wagon. (Got new ones from IPD.) We did the back side windows first and it went well. Amazing how dried out and brittle the old ones were, parts of it just crumbled in my hands. I watched IPD's video on replacing the scrapers which was a big help, but they didnt show anything about having to remove the side mirrors which is the problem now.

When we started on the front windows we quickly realized the side mirrors are in the way of removing that metal strip that the window scrapers are in. I did manage to pull completely off the little rubber boot on one of the mirrors on the inside and if I gently pry back that triangle piece of plastic I can see down to the the little screws/nuts that probably hold the mirror housing on the car.
Problem is I cannot (did not) pull that triangle piece of plastic back far enough to get at those small “bolts”, “nuts”, whatever they are, but I could see 2 of the nuts but I cant see further down, might be 3 “nuts“.

Im afraid to pull on anything too hard for fear of cracking or breaking something like maybe that triangle plastic thing. Once I can remove those nuts I assume the mirror will pull away from the door. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks
