I'm having a high idle issue after cleaning the throttle body. Prior to this repair I was getting a code for Bad Coolant Temp Sensor. Changed sensor, put clean throttle body back in, but then car would not even start. I then removed the new sensor, checked resistance and got no joy. I put the old sensor back and car started. Only had bad CTS code on slot 6, slot 2 was 1-1-1, but idle was high.
Decided I'd drive the car a few days to see if code on slot 6 and high idle would adjust themselves. Code on slot 6 read 1-1-1 after a couple days, but high idle remains. Might I just need to adjust the idle screw a bit? Wife has also mentioned seeing "smoke" from under the engine hood. I am attributing this to an exhaust leak/loose connection at manifold to down pipe. Could this be causing O2 sensor to read lean mixture thus adjusting idle to compensate?
Another strange thing is that I never got a Check Engine Light throughout.
Thanks for any helpful hints or clues you can lend.
