after my rope trick blunder with the timing belt change I've yet to take the head off an 88 b230f red block with the dist on rear of cam.

I know engine is non interference.....is there any circumstances that valves would bend or score pistons if started ?

There just isn't many 740 manual trans cars left on th eraod and available anymore.
