Good day ..mates. I have searched here for answers, but still have questions.
This is on my 92 245 w/217k. I assume it is an AW70 trans.
Problem: It sometimes slips and shudders slightly when backing, especially under load (as in backing up a hill).
It almost always will clunk or CLANG rather loudly when coming out of reverse back to drive. There is also a vibration from the drive train at speed.
I am going to get it on a rack (hopefully this weekend) and check the u-joints, and center hanger ... but my main question is should I be concerned about the aftermarket tranny mount and passenger side motor mount I installed a month or so back contributing to these issues? Seems I have read these can be a source of vibration.
Also the original tranny mount was broken badly for a week or so , along with the damaged motor mount ...allowing a lot of motion on the back end of the transmission.
When I get it on the rack, should I be looking for something damaged from all that movement?
Love to rectify these issues. Thanks for any and all help, especially with the cluck and slipping/stuttering.
:)
