Working on a car that had the NSS (Neutral start) removed and jumpered and another kludge to BU lights.
- NSS and backup lights are obvious
- 2 small (~20 gauge) grey wires come down from the shifter and go to the OD relay.
- white wire goes down to OD solenoid
- Black wire to ground screw on NSS
- Brown wire to light bulb
Leaving me two loose ends
1. The ground had a 2nd black wire coming off the clip. small: ~20 gauge, maybe 22. It was cut; there's nothing around to match it.
2. There's a loose ~20 gauge white wire that goes out to the passenger side. It lines up with the ground clip but that wire stub is black. There's nothing else to match it.
I haven't driven the car to see if the OD works. The dash arrow comes on when the ground wire is disconnected. the arrow doesn't work with the OD button when it is connected.
The OD relay doesn't click with the button on the shift knob.
Haynes wiring doesn't show wiring for the shifter area. Wiring diagrams show by function, which s useless if you have a loose wire.
