1993 240 DREADED BLOWER MOTOR 200

OK, so the fan stopped blowing today. Intermittently. It doesn't want to come on absent a swift rap to the port side console. When it does then start, it's accompanied by a tick that varies with speed. Runs on all knob settings but seems... I dunno... slowish. So I'm going to tackle it and will even replace all the stupid little bulbs that are out in the switch panel.

I've determined it to be the blower and NOT the resistor or switch based on the fact that it does run in all settings and that only a blow to the fan ousing starts it up. I suspect brush issues and that the smack I deliver jars the motor enough to make contact and start it spinning. Of course, turning the car off necessitates another bit of impact therapy.

Second opinions, nice people? Yes, I AM looking for validation of my conclusion, but if you've been here and have a conflicting idea, especially one that does not involve my Saturday spent upside down, I am ALL EARS. Thanks in advance for the wisdom, jeers as to my sad situation and commiseration. :-)

EDIT: Yes, I will be using Art's INCREDIBLE cleanflametrap.com reference, and I will be doing it the right way, despite my inclination to whip out the Dremel. Well... actually... I'm sure I don't know where that is right now. So that's an excellent excuse to buy a new onnnne..... hmmmm.... NO. I will do it the "right" way.
