940 doors won't open 900

3 our of the 4 doors on my 940 won't open. It wasn't an issue when it was just the back doors, I could live with that. I can't live with the driver's door...
Initially, the door was hard to open but when I put pressure on the outside latch it would release. This progressed to not opening at all. This lead to the handle latch feeling like the spring is shot as it no longer holds the original position.
I did a test before the driver's door failed. I noticed operating the inside door lever was not a smooth operation like it is on the remaining door that is in good working order.
Any ideas?
