Extreme brake squeal in the front, and now a groan in the back. 200 1993

Hi all, I have extreme sqealing in my brakes lately. I've changed the pads and the sliders, with little to no change. The next step is turning the rotors, which I probably should have gotten done when I replaced the pads. Do the bearing races need to come out to have the rotors turned? I replaced the back pads a few months ago and noticed that the passenger's side inner pad was worn differenly than the outter. I can't remember right now which was worn more. I replaced that caliper shortly after. Now this week, I've started to hear a groan from one or both of the rear brakes. It's getting to the point that I really don't like driving the car cause it sounds so bad. The groan seems to come more when I'm first braking, when there's slight drag on the pads, rather than braking hard. I've checked the Bentley manual and noticed that the piston should be at a certain angle using a special tool. I've read here that this is probably to reduce the "sounding like a bus" issue. I don't have that tool, is there something I can substitute for it? I was going to sit in the back of the wagon and have the wife drive around to see if I can pin it down to one wheel or the other. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.
