well my brother moved my brick for me and muscled down a frozen window stripping the crank, my guess is internally he broke a regulator. Arrrgh. So how hard is it to take the door apart to survey the damage. Crank turns and you can feel window mechanism hitting stops, but the glass is dropping in the door. Taped up til I can put it in the garage and examine it.
