HELP! OIL! 200 1988

Went out to warm up the car this morning and came out to find a puddle of oil. Seems to be toward the firewall, up high, on the passenger side. When I started up I heard something that sounded like something falling/breaking, not metallic really. I thought it might have been icicles when I heard it. I found on the ground when I backed up, something that looks like a cap of some sort. It's black, 1 3/4" in diameter and looks like brass on the inside. I'm pretty sure it came off the car but not entirely

Any ideas?
