This isn't a problem much here in San Diego -- but we're driving to the Bay Area and a previous problem has been confirmed with the last storm - the car won't start in the rain. The engine will turn over, but not start. I'm not an electrical guru by any stretch, and my mechanic (Dave Shannon) retired last year... so...
I spoke with a mechanic and he said in his experience its almost always the fuel pump relay. That's easy - what do you think? What else might I replace or check? How do I check? The mechanic said some things, but as it often happens, I couldn't understand him on his shop phone (must be a strategy).
Of course, we're getting ready to drive 500 miles in a few days, and I'm stuck grading final exams.
Any help is appreciated!
Its a beaut! (in need of paint):
