is there a mod for the bottom stud on the turbo / manifold bracket? 900 1993

I've looked around and have found several complaints about the design of the bottom stud and bracket that prevents the whole exhaust manifold and turbo coming out as one piece.It seems if you just replaced the stud with at bolt then it would make removal/refitting much easier but is the extreme heat on the bolt the issue?

What is the bracket for anyway? It's not very substantial, it doesn't appear to be holding anything up or down and seems to be more of an afterthought.
