Seat Rail/Track Comparison

The driver's seat on my 1990 740 sedan scoots forward and back very smoothly and easily. However, the front passenger seat takes lots of effort, even after applying lubricant. The bar assembly that "unlocks" the forward/back seat position works fine, disengaging the seat's "cog" from the track's notches. It just doesn't move sweetly, like the driver's seat.

The FAQ indicates that there are rods and bearings in the seat track. I suspect that my front passenger seat does not have these. Is there a way to check this without taking the whole seat out and apart? Thanks!
