IRS Nivomat conversion 700 1990

I have a 90 780 with the coil spring independent rear suspension and Nivomat shocks, which are worn out. I would like to convert the car to conventional shocks. I read the relevant section in the FAQ but don't like a couple of things in the procedure described---first, I don't want to lower my car, and second, I don't trust the "knucklebone" spring extenders that were used to get the rear up to the proper (for a lowered car) ride height. What I would like to know is if it is possible to use the coil springs (and conventional shocks) from a 760 sedan with IRS on my car, and are the control arms, spring seats or other components different as well, and if so, what do I need to look for?

Is the rear suspension of an early (to 95) 960 the same as that of the 760? If so, can I use parts from one of those?

I am also interested in changing the gear ratio from the current 3.73 to a 3.31. Did any 760s or 960s ever come with such a differential? Can the differential from a late (96+) leaf spring car be installed in a coil spring car?
