Hi all
My 740 resurrection project has been going well. Now that I have fixed most of the mechanical problems, I am looking to address some exterior body issues.
The car's clearly had a minor accident before (not when I have owned it) and the bumper is now out of alignment - see pic. Before I actually remove it to see if I can fix it, can anyone who's had similar experience offer some advice on what I might have to do to repair the problem?
The bumper itself is a little 'fatter' laterally on one side than the other due to impact damage (visible in pic) though, strangely, there's no frontal dent.
I have a bad feeling that this is something I can't fix without the help of a body shop/panel beater - which I am trying to avoid since they charge major money. Whilst I haven't even started on looking at how the bolts for the sides of the bumper, it seems logical to me that the bolt or the fender/wing section where the bolts for the sides fit must be pretty sheared for the bumper to be so much pulled down. Will the bumper pistons be bent or damaged beyond repair you think?
Thanks in advance,
Regards
Lucast
