Rear end rumbling 200 1986

My 1986 245 has a loud rumble with some vibration coming from the rear end. The noise doesn't happen when I'm accelerating, only when I'm coasting, slowing down, or coming to a stop (foot off the gas). It's the worst as I come to a stop. But, if I'm slowing to a stop the noise is loud, but if I give it gas, the noise goes away. Sounds like I have a jake brake or like driving on washboard dirt road.

Any ideas?? Thanks.
