I have to say that I have been quietly reading and searching from the wings for about a month now. I made a low bid on e-bay for a second car (my dream car) a 245. The last Volvo I had was a 1991 244 with 250,000 when I traded it (stupidly) for a pickup truck. The "minor rust" problems that were described on this new wagon are indeed far worse thn described- but nothing atypical-rear quarter panels under the windows, the tailgate, etc. I can tackle these fairly easily. But what concerns me is the bottom under the drivers seat- inside the car floor is solid- but there is a 3' long section pealing down below exposing some of the witing harness running to the rear. What is the best way to patch this up and does anybody have a source for good sheet metal for 240's? With young kids and a long commute into Metro NYC, it's not easy sourcing good body parts.
