how i passed inspection 200

finally got around to taking care of the NJ State inspection for my beloved 240.

failed inspection several weeks ago for emissions.

after:
1-new "el cheapo" cat. converter... 4 year old o2 sensor tested out fine.
2-retarded cam timing from 6 degrees advanced to 2 degrees advanced... I run the Enem V15 cam
3-install properly gapped plugs (my gaps on the old set were .52 when they should have been .30)
4-new Bosch cap & rotor
5-oil change & filter
6-new air cleaner

results:
-NOx from 1273 to 706
-HC from 167 to 24
-CO% from .94 to .03

i'm curious as to the plug gap & its effect on emissions.

at .52 the electrodes were white (lean condition). the old plugs were NGKs outta the box. definitely not gapped properly from the factory. from this day forward, i'll check my own gaps before installing new plugs.
