Alternator- did Volvo use a different Bosch starting in 1992? 900 1992

Still trying to familiarize myself with a 92 940Ti.

The car has 100K (just a pup). As a preventative measure I plan on checking the alternator brushes.

The Bosch alternator on this car has a black plastic cap over the back. Is it just a matter of disconnecting the wires and removing the cap to access the regulator and brushes?

Will I see the familiar regulator/brush assembly I have worked with before on earlier cars? Thanks.
