BRAKE FLUID RESERVOIR CONNECTION??????? 444-544

Hello all.
Can someone out there help me. i have recently received a new reservoir and connecting rubber piece.

Q1. Is there a 1cm long (rubber/plastic) sleeve that goes over the metal brake line before the rubber connector is pushed onto it. There was one there when i pulled off the old rubber connector. Was this a botch job by the last owner.

Q2. Should the protruding lip of the metal brake line come right through the smaller bore of the rubber connector tube or stay within it.

Q3. When the reservoir is held by its metal clamp(and rubbber connector fitted), there is a gap of about 1.5cm between the end of the stem of the reservoir and the protruding lip of the metal brake line. IS THIS RIGHT???

Q4. Does the top of the rubber connector have to go all the way to the top of the reservoir stem. I got the rubber connector from SWEDISH TREASURES, so i assume its the length it should be. I just feel its a little short. What should the exact length of the rubber connector be.

Q5. Finally, is there any pressure in the rubber connector when in normal operation.

Sorry to labour the points, but anything to do with brakes worries me. I really look forward to hear from you all.

Thanking you in advance.

SUNIL
