Fixing HUGE paint chips on plastic bumper 900 1995

the bumper on my volvo has always had a BIG chip on the driver's side corner of the front bumper. it's flipping huge, it must have begun with a somewhat minor chip that then flaked off until it was a circle probably 3 or 4 inches in diameter. ALL of the paint is gone, and the bumper looks like the low grey side panel things below the doors.

i was wondering if there is some special technique for applying paint other than getting the special additive for touch up paint. does the bumper even require a primer? thanks in advance.

oh yeah, is there supposed to be grey trim on the front bumper, like there is on the rear and low sides? cause mine doesnt have any...

Yeah, there should be a trim on the bumper. A hit cracked the paint, and well, you what's happened since.

How's the plastic itself on the bumper?

Plastic adhesive-promotion primer + paint + clear coat is the proper way to repair. Likewise, find another bumper, complete with the proper trim piece, in the junkyard that's in good shape and if necessary, have the colored portions repainted to the proper body color.
