Taking apart subframe OUT of car 140-160

I'm about to take apart a 140 subframe that's been laying around in my garage for a while.. is there anything I should know :) I hope I don't need spring compressors.

Thanks

      Hi,
It sounds like the cross member with suspension is already out of the car and you just want to dis-assemble it? Is that correct?
In that case it is very straight forward, you can just unbolt everything, you don't need spring compressors. If you are leary of the spring tension you can un-bolt the ball joints, (give the A arms whack so they release, and then un- do the shock, thus releasing the tension slowly. Most of the spring however is contained in the cross member and the bottom by the lower A arm, so it isn't going flying out anywhere. (I guess you can never be too safe though).

        Hey Cardog,

Thanks for the info. That's exactly what I am doing and wanted to ask before I jumped into it. Just got an impact gun and sockets... gotta make use of em :)

Are you talking about the front crossmember with front suspension and
    motor mounts? Or what?
