Have 1990 240 when I start it O.D. light comes on sometimes after 5/10 sec.s it goes out. other times it will go out after pushing the O.D button 10 to 15 times is there a way to jump around the relay and button and keep the O.D. engauged at all times?.

Look on this board (200) for a recent post on bypassing relay w/switch on center console. I'd rather have the original button working via relay, myself. Take your pick.

Also look for my recent post re. repairing wire break in tranny tunnel.
Yours looks more like a failing relay, but if the wire's on it's way out no amount of new relays will help you. Worth a look if you can skinny under there.

sounds like a relay problem. you can take out the relay and resolder the connections on it. cheaper than buying a new one.

If you can't solder, you can pickup a used one in a boneyard for $5-10...
