FUMES - PB Penetrating Catalyst in car

Well, my car is running great now! I removed all the fuses and scrubbed the connecters clean with a copper brush and some PB Penetrating Catalyst. All my problems are now gone and the engine just purrs. The only problem is I get high when I drive from all the fumes!

I have a home HEPA air filter and I ran that out to the car and let it run for a few hours now, but it still smells really strong in there. I have soaked up any residual PB PC with a rag. Does anyone have any other tips? Will the fumes disipate eventually? The bottle says the stuff never evaporates...

HEPA filters filter particulate from the air. They do nothing to remove vapors.

PB Blaster is not the best smelling stuff. Like Steve said, roll the windows down and lit it sit in the sun.

Let it sit in the sun with the windows open for a few hours.

PBLaster is not the best electronics cleaner. Better to use spray cleaner (Radio Shack) which does not leave residue that can oxidize the contacts. Best of all is Caig Labs' DeOxIt (also Radio Shack) which removes oxides and protects the contacts with no smell.

Steve's right, eventually it'll dissipate. I had a can of PB in the trunk of my Jetta once, that discharged its entire contents into the trunk carpet & its felt backing. That was an extreme case. I took the carpet & felt out & left them on my balcony in the sun for several weeks. The smell was tolerable after that & eventually faded away.
