Sometimes on my SC-805 CD player in the V90(the single CD type with a tape player built in) when I put a CD in it it will not play and it automatically ejects the CD after about 5 seconds. If you persevere you can get it to accept the CD and play it but its a time consumning process....it only does this with certain CD's and it is random and not one particular CD specific...I've tried loads and still the same random playing. Also I've noticed a hissing sound coming from one of the rear speakers that stays on even after the stereo is turned off....it only goes once the ignition key is taken out....what could be causing this??...its very annoying as you can imagine.

I had the same problem with my 1998 S70 sedan. Check the archived files in the S70/V70 area. If I recall correctly there was a small switch that wasn't being properly triggered by the mechanical system that "pulls" the cd into the player. I've also found that if I try to play a CD-R or CD-RW that I've burned it will only play about 1/2 the time. Regular "store-bought" CD's play just fine.
