Is it possible to retrofit the longer style roof rack like is on the mid nineties 8-9 series onto my 745 wagon. this is the one that extends closer to the front. I'm assuming it would be like putting a rack on a car that doesn't have one, only could you use the rear mount holes for the existing flimsy rack.

    Remove the existing rack, plug the holes (iPd kit), and get a set of gutter mounted racks instead (Yakima, Thule, etc.). You can put it anywhere you need to, not to mention other accessoies to make it more useful.
