K-Jet part identification 140-160

HI,

Last night I spent some time inspecting and sorting my FI parts for my future MegaSquirt install. Stripping a B20E K-Jet manifold I stood in front of a part I couldn't identify, not being a K-Jet guru at all (and no FI Guru anyway...) It's bolted on the upper side of the manifold, between ports N° 3 and 4. Has some power coming to it, the rest of what looks like a K-Jet fuel line and a hose splitting in two by means of a T-juction.

What is this ? Thanks, Séb

Hmmm if it has fuel hoses it would seem likely to be the warm up regulator.
The fuel line would go to the fuel distibutor. Usually they are bolted to the block though to feel engine temperature. Where and what kind of hose splits in the T?

K-Jet part identification 140-160

Hi,
Sounds like the warm up regulator (aka control pressure regulator) to me. This stuff is identified in the Haynes manual.
How To Tune & Modify BOSCH Fuel Injection by Ben Watson (Motorbooks) and Bosh Fuel Injection & Engine Management by Charles Probst (Bentley) are also two very nice books to have.
I was under the impression that D-jet was the way to go with Megasquirt. Are you sure that K-Jet lends itself to this conversion?

Hi,
As said in ahother post, D-Jet is easier to adapt than K-Jet when talking Megasquirt. But so far I sourced most of the needed parts for my conversion (injectors, holders, fuel rail, etc.) si it should be possible. Of course it means making an adapter for the TPS but this shouldn't be too bad.

Of course if someone near Switzerland would want to part with a D-Jet manifold, I'd be more than happy. Otherwise I'll do with what I have at hand (not s many D-Jetted Volvos around, here!)

Thanks for the input anyway, guys! Séb

The K-Jet intake ducting makes it a bit harder to go MegaSquirt, but just means slightly more work to do (+ fitting new injectors). The D-Jet manifold is nice because the whole thing is cast and you just change the throttle body.
