Check the fuse panel by the drive's feet in front of the door. Make sure all the fuses are nice and tight especially the fuel pump.
I just went through the same issue with my 89 (see 3 posts about this one) only it wouldn't start period. I had to replace the whole ECU.

Another thing I forgot to mention. 200

An easy way to eliminate an ECU fault vs a fuel pump/relay fault is to see if the "CHECK ENGINE" light turns on with the key in position2. CEL, the ECU is ok. No CEL, bad ecu/fuse/ignition problem. I wasn't getting a CEL.

Good tip. Will check in the morning. I do think the CEL was lit.

You can bypass the relay from the fuse box by putting a jumper between the 2 fuel pump fuses on the left side of the fuse. Dan

Hi, get under the car and if you have a test light probe the B+ side of the fuel pump. If there is power then you have a bad fuel pump.Hope this helps.

Cannot hear pumps.Car is now home.It is looking more like a pump problem.

Out of curiosity. Check the battery connections. Especially the smaller wire on the positive post.

From your description, it sounds like it could just be a bad ground or other connection -- be sure to rule that out before you spend $$$ on a new pump!

I have been checking ground connections and all are ok.Friday will be work on the car all day time[day off].I am curious to test a ground connection from the relay. From my "Houston" post someone ,sorry forgot the name, posted about losing a ground connection from relay to ecu. Also will be getting under the car and suppling direct current to pump.Meanwhile my back up 87 is buzzing away.So after the 90 fiasco I will be checking the little hose on the pre-pump.Makes me tired just thinking about it.Not to mention the 60 panels of drywall I need to put up this weekend. Will keep everyone posted.
Thanks,Nelson
