i need new horns 700 1992

Good Evening all

today i was fumbling with the horns because one of them was not working. i noticed that there was alot of corrosion and rust around the spade connectors. while messing around the spade connector broke off the horns, right in my fingers. that is the worst place to have horns on a vehicle. my next step is to get some hella air horns. How easy are they to install? is there anyone with the hella horns on their 700 series volvo?where did you install the trumpets? where to buy other than ipd? should i just grab another set off of a bmw, audi at the local PNP?

Thx all

    Hi blkberry,
I just repaced the horns on my '87 745T with a set of Blazer(brand name) from Autozone. I think they are made by FIAM(sp?). The 745 now sounds like a big car and at a cheap price...+/- $24.00. They are red and come as a matched set. Simply crimp on spade connectors where the Volvo terminals on the horn cable were and good to go.

Audi horns sound better than BMW, and a P&Pull would be the place to get them.

I just fixed my horns; the same thing happened- the spade connectors both (all 4 actually) broke off. I sanded down the connections on the back of the horns and tinned the connection, and soldered wires directly to the horns. Works fine now. I cut back the original wiring to solder new wire in there, it is really amazing how the corrosion will just spread up a wire under the insulation!
