A dumb question about the clutch spring 140-160

The return spring (I guess that's what it is called)hooks onto the arm going into the clutch, but where do you hook the other end? Nothing I see will provide what I think is a good secure point.

Thanks,

Jim Hampton

A dumb question about the clutch spring 140-160

    Jim,
It hooks into a small hole in the end of the same bracket that attaches to the tranny mount and has the clamp on it that steadies the exhaust pipe. -- part #676611-7 or 671443-0 (AT). The clamp is separate and different on each. If you don't have one, make one or get one. It makes the car quieter and may help to keep your exhaust manifold from cracking. Caveat: if you need to order one, double-check the part number I gave.
    Bob S.

I believe they just hook onto the trans crossmember. Some models seem to have a hole in the crossmember for it, but I may be thinking of a 240....
