friend's 760 followup..... still having issues 700 1987

So my roomate's 87 turbo 760 still sits parked at his work after about a week of fiddling. It's about 10 minles from home so working on it is slow. He still has all of his dash lights come on when he starts the car and the car dies almost immediately. In fact we have made it worse. The car won't even run anymore as it will stall out immediately after starting. So far we have re-wired the headlight grounds on both sides and the engine/injector grounds coming on and off the intake manifold. The headlight grounds seemed ok but the injector grounds were AWFUL. It was almost bare wires. One of the injectors had it's wires crumbling and I'm pretty sure it was shorting itself out. We replaced that. We have also wrapped any exposed/crumbling wire that we could see in the engine bay. Still no improvement. Any ideas?

Check the FAQ section of brick board regarding checking fuel system. I'd start their since you know you have spark (car start), but appears to be loosing fuel or getting too much fuel (see FAQ about check valve, fuel pressure regulator and coolant temperature valve).
