front control arm bushing question 200 1988

Greetings all, I have a '88 245 with over 217,500 miles on it. The lower control arm rear bushing is shot. the Volvo quick reference parts catalog lists two different part #s: 1359812-3 Rear, left and 1273778-9 Rear, right, but IPD ( and others) sell one bushing for both left and right, I am thinking that this might affect my castor angle which is now way out of spec.(because of worn bushing Iam sure) any ideas, info??

thanks
peter

I used OEM Boge from Groton. I believe they were exactly the same. I read on this board that this is fine. Originally they were specified as different, but I guess that doesn't necessarily hold true anymore. Mine are working great. Get the Boges, not the cheaper ones.

Stock Bushings have more holes (rubber reliefs) on one side then the other.
I don't know why. The physical size is the same on both pieces. The One piece that fits both sides has no reliefs. They seem totally fine in my car.
No ailignment issues and no ride difference

Groton and eEuroparts have separate listings for the left and right bushings.

FWIW, comparing those FCP numbers to the 1991 Volvo Quick Reference parts catalog, the OE catalog shows the same as FCP for the 2 different bushings:

      • 1273778 for the right
      • 1359812 for the left

So FCP's "aftermarket" bushings have the OE numbers, while the 1273711 ("OEM" Boge) does not appear to be an OE number (anymore?), even though I know it's commonly used by aftermarketers offering 2 of the same bushing.

My hunch is that 1273711 was once the OE left # (supeceded by 1359812), but is now used by the aftermarketers for stocking simplicity.(But why not use the still current 1273778 for pairs then?)

These bushing numbers have puzzled me since my 1st 240 in 1990.
