High Mileage Oil

Does anyone have a negative(or positive)opinion on the relatively new oil marketed for higher mileage cars. We've all been through the synthtic verses "natural" debate. Does this stuff really have extra goodies in it or is it just hyped snake oil? I've run 10W 40 for thirty years and find habits hard to break. Thanks G. Martin

I don't think it's worth it either ... sounds like something the Marketing Team came up with, as the other post suggested.

The PO mechanic put in 15w40 in my Volvo with 200K KM as he considered it getting old. I switched back to 10w30.

If you want LOTS of opinion on oils, head over to www.bobistheoilguy.com and scroll down to Forums.

that stuff is more for engines in rough shape that really need an overhaul. Its supposed to make the seals swell, seal worn rings, quiet noisy lifters and bring an end to poverty. I don't beleive any of it. Special oil won't fix a neglected engine.
