I need to find out whether my speedometer is electrical or mechanical. what is the esiest way of determining this ??

    The model year is the best way to tell. In the 200 series, 1986 and newer,the speedometers are electronic. Before and up to 1985 they are mechanical. Hope this helps.

      Some 1985's are also electronic; it was the "change-over" year, so the "K and R" thing is the best way to check the 1985 model. Other than that, yes, anything 84 and prior...mechanical; anything 86 and up...electronic.
