Just in case some of you don't know what E85 - it is 85% ethanol fuel. I wonder what kind of contortions one would have to go through in order to burn E85 in an SU carbed B20???

I've asked this question before on a different board after noting that E85 is usually cheaper. You have to have a purpose built engine and fuel system to run this stuff. I know the pressures are much higher. I don't know how similar it would be to LPG or natural gas, though.

Anybody who would distill stuff like that and then propose using it as a
MOTOR fuel has GOT to be loco en la cabeza. It is so much better for medicinal
use, drinking and a HOST of great chemical processes that to use it as a motor
fuel is about like using dried beef as a stove fuel!! God put oil in the ground
to use as a motor fuel! Maybe even coal, but not corn products. Make
tortillas, not war!!! People are starving and will they send them corn? No,
they gotta make motor fuel. Talk about crazy politics!!

(sorry, couldn't help it. I was born in one oil patch and raised in an even
older one.)

I am kind of leery to try it out. My 93 Ford Taurus comes with the FFX engine and there is a gas station in OKC that has E85. My car is running great and I am afraid I might mess something up....

Try it! Then replace every bit of rubber fuel line. Old hoses will leak when exposed to even low levels of ethanol in the fuel, every single time. New lines will hold up fine.
