FPR: Difference between part #s 0 280 160 292 and 0 280 160 292 ? 700 1985

I have an 85 740 GLE (non-turbo) with an 2.2 LH Jetronics ECU setup.

I currently have a BOSCH FPR Part # 0 280 160 294 installed. However, the FcpGroton site seems to indicate that this FPR is used for the 89-92 740 Non-Turbos - while the earlier 740s use a 0 280 160 292.

Anyone know what the difference between the 2 part #s are ? The 294 has 3.0 bar stamped on the side opposite the Part #. Anyone know what the pressure spec. for the 292 is ? I expect it will be similarly stamped on the FPR.

Thanks !

Noel

FPR: Difference between part #s 0 280 160 292 and 0 280 160 292 ? 700 1985

I don't know the technical differences, but the following is from a 1992 Bosch FI parts catalog for 0-280-160-nnn (excluding 240/780/940 and turbo apps):

225 — 85-87 740, plus some 82-84 BMWs and 86-88 Peugeots

292 — 87-88 740, 91-92 740, exc. Calif. (no PN listed for Calif.)

294 — 89-90 740 (b230 & 234)

FPR: Difference between part #s 0 280 160 292 and 0 280 160 294 ? 700 1985

Just noticed I made a mistake on the original subject line of this thread. It should have read:

FPR: Difference between part #s 0 280 160 292 and 0 280 160 294 ?

It appears that the 0 280 160 225 model of FPR (which should be on my 85 740 GLE Non-Turbo 2.2 LH-Jetr. engine) has a pressure specification of 2.5 Bars, while the one I currently have on (0 280 160 294) has a spec. of 3 Bars.

Anyone have an insight into what side-effects (if any) I should be seeing with this 20 % increase in pressure ?

Thanks,

Noel

Thanks Bruce !

That's wierd. The FCPGroton site dosn't mention a 225. However, the IPD catalog does (I'd checked it earlier, but they only showed 225 not the complete part # - so wasn't sure about it).

Does the parts catalog mention any pressure specs for each part # ? Does anyone know what the differences in specs between these 3 part #s are ?

0 280 160 225
0 280 160 292
0 280 160 294

Thanks again,

Noel
