I just replaced my crappy Bridgestone RE92 (195/60/15) on my 740GL with some good Michelin X Radials from Costco. They are quite good, grippy and better than my BS RE92's. I recommend these ones. They got 130,000 KM warranty. See michelin website for more info.

If you get snow, Nokian makes great all season tires that are actually rated as snow tires. The Nokian model to get is WR formally NRW.

195 or 205 60 15 seems to work the best with stock rims. I have Nankang performance radials, the cheap kind cause they were$36 for the set used with maybe 5000 miles on em. They work just great, but could run a litle quieter. Compared to Yokohama AVS, they would feel bald.

I just got a set of Cooper Lifeliners on my car and I'd say I'm pleased. The handling isn't quite as good as the Yokohamas I had before but the ride is quiet and the wet traction is better than the Michellin Pilots that I had on the back before. And, they were pretty cheap. So, I'd say they are worth looking into.

while others have lauded Kumho, mine hp4 allseason developed temperature dependent dimples on the side walls soon after purchase.Take that into consideration.
My next set would probably be Michelin again or Bridegestone from Costco.
