Heat/Air Ducts 200 1989

My 240 is allowing air to circulate through the interior of the vehicle even though the blower is turned completely to 'OFF.'

I am thinking that I might have a duct door partial open. The air flow is small but it is there.

This might be of help when evaluating the problem: The temperature of the air flowing in IS affected by the setting of the temperature slider bar - even though the blower fan is set to 'OFF.'

Any suggestions on where to look first?

If your selector is switched to fresh air, you may get outside air coming in even though your fan is off. Try selecting recirculating air and see what happens.....

I have tried this. No difference. The air comes in either way.

the odd thing is that if I have the slider switch on the warm side the air temp is warm and same thing for slider positioned all the way to the left with cooler air.

So I guess what I am saying is that I am wondering if this air is being 'manufactured' by my car (going throught the heater) ?

It just doesn't seem likely that regular "vented" air would be "hot/cool" adjustable.

I actually think it would. The air is still going by or through the heater core depending on where the temp selector is. I experience the same thing as you describe and I really think that it is normal.

        Hope I am right???
