Radio / CD player wiring question 200

Greetings from the Hudson Valley. I'm installing a new Kenwood CD player in my 87 240 wagon. I need to run new wires. I have a good ground and the ACC wire ties nicely into fuse #1. My question is, do you folks run another wire out through the firewall for the unswitched wire, or is their something more convenient in the dashboard or at the fuse box that won't generate noise / interference? Factory wiring was gone, so I'm winging this one. Thanks

Scott

I just put in a kenwood; power from the tab off of fuse 9 is continuous and I used it so as to keep presets and time.

Put a spade onto wire, place it on the tab and run it up to the centre and you should have power. Disconnect your negative terminal on the battery. I blew the radio's fuse the first time...
