Questions about a b16 444-544

What are the differences between a b16 and a Penta b16? Is http://www.engr.uconn.edu/~milone/pics/b16/b161.JPG a b16 or a Penta model? I need to get it out of my garage pronto. It's going on Ebay on Monday unless someone speaks up about it. If nobody wants it on Ebay, it's going to the scrap heap.

    Gil,

Have you gotten rid of the B16?

Looks just like the b16 I have in my 1960 544. All the rust may lead me to believe that it was used in a boat rather than a car. Do you know if it runs or when it was last installed in a vehicle? Good luck.

      Questions about a b16 444-544

It came out of a car and then was rebuilt to go into a boat, the boat sank without the motor in it. My father bought it for a 58 122 he had. Now it has sat for years in the garage, and a few months outside hence the rust...

I would say this is a B16 engine from a boat, that is what the penta is all about. Probably will sell on ebay o. A lot of people are still trying to keep these old engines going.

Sorry man, actually, the engine of preference are the B20, or at last, the B18. B16 spare parts are now very scarse.
