CD Changer Installation 900

I just received a Volvo CD changer which I purchased on Ebay. I've got a trunk connection with a DIN connector which is about the size of a keyboard DIN. The connector on the changer is a female but the size is much larger (like the older DIN connectors for keyboards).

Is there a set of installation instructions available online? I've received all the cables as well but not sure as to where to begin. The unit is a Volvo 6 disc changer (silver in color). Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

If you can not find an adapter, try Radio Shack, see if you can match up the two. Buy the approprate one to fit each din plug and get a short length of cable and match connector for connector. Takes some small soldering skill but is an alternative if you cannot find an adapter.
Good Luck,
Dennis

I did this a few years ago and I remember there was some type of adapter needed. You can check with www.crutchfield.com because they sell the adapter.

Crutchfield is good, but also try going to a local installer and see what they say (take in the pieces you are trying to connect, of course).

I'm thinking that the Volvo radios are made by Alpine, so if you go to a store's installer, go to a place that sells Alpine equipment (like Circuit City). Go back to the install counter and ask them directly.

Its takes whats called an RF modulator which basicly broadcasts the cd audio over an fm freq they are kinda a drag you have to put down the antena all the time thats the only way unless you get a aftermarket deck with rca inputs on it.
